Creator Arena Rules

1. Eligibility

To participate in the Creator Arena, you must:

Be at least 18 years of age, OR at least 16 years of age with verifiable parental/guardian consent
Have a registered MythFoundry Studio account in good standing
Accept the Creator Licensing Agreement
Provide valid payment information for potential payouts
Not be prohibited from participating under applicable laws

Traditional Media Artists Welcome

The Creator Arena is specifically for traditional media artists:

Illustrators - Pencil, ink, and traditional illustration
Painters - Watercolor, oil, acrylic, and other physical painting
Portrait Artists - Charcoal, graphite, and traditional portraiture

No digital art or AI-generated work accepted.

Not Accepted

Graphic design submissions are not accepted. Any graphic design embellishments (logos, typography, layouts, branding elements) are done in-house at the sole discretion of Sean A. LaViscount.

Solo creators and small teams (up to 3 members) may participate. Teams are treated as a single "Creator ID" for payout purposes and must designate one member to receive payments.

2. Monthly Competition Cycle

1st of Month

Previous month's winner announced & payout processed. New category revealed by MOMMA.

1st - 25th

Submission window open. One entry per creator per month.

26th - 28th

Community voting and MOMMA review period.

29th - 31st

Final judging and winner selection.

3. Submission Categories

Each month, MOMMA randomly selects one category for the competition. Categories rotate to give different types of creators opportunities:

Character Features

Portraits, expressions, poses, character details, hero/villain designs

Costume Designs

Armor, robes, faction uniforms, ceremonial attire, accessories

Environments

Landscapes, cityscapes, interiors, atmospheric scenes, key locations

Relics & Artifacts

Weapons, tools, magical items, ancient technology, sacred objects

Creatures (Villains)

Monsters, antagonists, corrupted beings, chaos entities

Creatures (Heroes)

Companions, guardians, mythical allies, benevolent beings

4. Submission Requirements

One submission per creator per month - Choose wisely
Original work only - Must be created by you, not AI-generated or copied
File formats: PNG, JPG, or WEBP (high-resolution scans of traditional artwork)
Maximum file size: 5MB per submission
Include: Title, brief description (100-300 words), and which realm it belongs to
Traditional media only: Pencil, ink, paint, charcoal, or other physical media — no digital art or AI-generated work

5. Judging Criteria

All submissions are scored 1-10 in each dimension:

Fit to World (Canon Alignment)

Does it belong in Genesis Engine, MYTHOS//ENGINE, or Earth 0.1?

Is it distinct, non-derivative, and memorable?

Utility & Reusability

Can it be used across multiple products and experiences?

Emotional Impact

Does it evoke a strong, coherent feeling?

6. Community Voting

During the voting period (days 26-28), the community can vote for their favorite submissions:

Free Vote

Everyone gets 1 free vote per month. No account required - just pick your favorite and vote!

Vote Pack ($5)

Want more votes? Purchase a Vote Pack for $5 to get 3 additional votes. Use them on multiple artists or stack them on your favorite!

Where Does the Money Go?

10% to Winner Payout Pool: A portion of every vote pack purchase goes directly to the winner's payout
Support Artists: Your vote pack purchase directly supports the arena and its creators
One Pack Per Month: Each email can only purchase one vote pack per competition

Note: Vote packs are non-refundable after purchase. Unused votes expire at the end of the voting period. Votes cannot be removed once cast.

7. Winner Selection & Payout

The highest-scoring submission (combining votes and MOMMA's review) becomes the monthly winner
Winner is announced on the 1st of the following month
10% of that month's net revenue (including vote pack sales) is calculated and paid out
Payouts are processed automatically via Stripe Connect
Minimum payout threshold: $10 USD (amounts below this roll over to next win)
Payout timeline: Within 7 business days of announcement

Payout Details

Revenue Calculation (Net Revenue)

The 10% is calculated on net revenue from Member Pass ($5), Creator Pass ($29), and Pro Creator Pass ($99) sales during the competition month. Net Revenue = Gross Revenue minus payment processing fees, refunds, and chargebacks. See the Creator Licensing Agreement for the full calculation formula.

Payment Method: Stripe Connect

Winners must set up a Stripe Connect account to receive payouts. This allows direct deposit to your bank account. You can set up your account in the Settings menu after logging in. Stripe may charge standard processing fees on transfers.

Payout Currency

All payouts are processed in USD. International creators will receive payments in USD, which your bank may convert to local currency at their exchange rates.

Rollover Policy

If your payout is below $10, it will be held and combined with your next win. Accumulated earnings are never forfeited.

Artist Donations

Supporters can make direct donations to their favorite arena artists. These donations are separate from competition winnings.

100% to artist: The full donation amount goes to the specified artist
Minimum donation: $1 USD
Payout timing: Donations are batched and paid out monthly on the 1st
Stripe Connect required: Artists must have Stripe Connect set up to receive donations

8. Canon Status & Ongoing Royalties

Winning entries become official canon in the MythFoundry mythology:

Your work is integrated into the official lore and may appear in products
You retain creator credit on all uses
Future uses in products, campaigns, or merchandise may generate additional royalties
Full terms are outlined in the Creator Licensing Agreement

9. Non-Winning Entries

Even if you don't win, your participation matters:

Reserve Pool: Strong entries may be selected for future canon or commissions
Feedback: You'll receive 2-3 tags indicating how close you were
Gallery Feature: Quality submissions appear in the community gallery
Progression: Build your creator reputation with each submission
Micro-Commissions: Top non-winners may receive paid commission offers

10. Prohibited Content

Submissions must not contain:

Copyrighted material you don't own rights to
AI-generated content (you must be the creator)
Explicit sexual content or gratuitous violence
Hate speech, discrimination, or harmful stereotypes
Real individuals without their consent
Content that violates any applicable laws

11. Disputes & Decisions

All judging decisions are final. In the event of a tie, MOMMA and the S.A. LaViscount team make the final determination. We reserve the right to disqualify entries that violate these rules or the Creator Licensing Agreement. Appeals may be submitted within 48 hours of winner announcement.

12. Tax Responsibilities

Winners are responsible for reporting and paying any applicable taxes on their earnings. For U.S. creators earning over $600/year, we may require W-9 forms. International creators are responsible for compliance with their local tax laws.

13. Changes to Rules

We may update these rules at any time. Changes apply to future competition cycles, not current ones. Material changes will be announced at least 7 days before the next cycle begins.
